A little story to go with this:
Last year, I was in a fiction writing class. For the most part, I did well in it. However, there was one short story I wrote that didn't do so well with my classmates. And looking back at it now, I understand and agree with them that it was a very sub-par story and the criticism I got from most of them was good. While most of them were gracious and true critics about it, there were two classmates of mine who railroaded it like I had insulted them personally or something. Their "criticism" wasn't even criticism. It was just them saying that the story was terrible and that I should be ashamed of myself and stuff like that.
As you can guess, it hurt. Bad. I was emotionally dead that whole day until I got home and Juli got home. She, being the motherly type she is, instantly noticed what was wrong, and that when I started to break down. Not bawling, but I did cry quite a bit. And there she was, being my rock, comforting me.

I’m truly sorry you had to go through that shit man. I won’t even try to pretend how devastating it can be, but I can certainly sympathize with you. I’m just glad you’re doing better and have someone like your wife in your corner to help you out when shit hits the fan.
